Must Win Game For Snakes!

Things didn't go to plan in the Snake's third game of the finals series in Adelaide, going down a spirited Croyden Raiders team. Whilst there were patches of good bowling and fielding from the Snakes, opportunities were too few and far between, with the Raiders batting well to post a defendable 91 runs. Averaging well above that so far in the tournament, the Snakes would've considered themselves a good chance of chasing it down, but failed to fire in the opening 4 overs, recording a mere 2 runs and handing Croyden the first of 4 valuable skins to go with the ascendancy. Vin Sandhu and Will Lanca fought hard to secure the second skin, although with the final 2 pairs requiring 70 for the win, spare wickets were in very short supply. A wicket from the first ball of the third pair made things even harder for the table topping Snakes as Peter Lewis and Aaron Todd see-sawed their way all over the place to finally finish on 12, no thanks to a 3 wicket over from Raiders captain and current All-Australian Justin Perkins.

Needing an unlikely 54 for the win, our final pairing of Nick Degrys and Justin Coetzee put on a batting clinic to restore some respectability back into the scorecard and collect a vital skin from the 24 run loss.andnbsp;

The Snakes now need to win their final game against the Wolves, or hope that Croyden lose their final game against cellar dwellers the Pink Panthers if they hope to proceed to Sunday's finals. Back to News
