Seamer Snakes Ladies climbing the ladder

Our young ladies side posted their second convincing win over Bouncer this season with a 116-94 win over their northern suburbs rivals last Sunday. The win encapsulated an stark turnaround from the Snake’s first NICL season in 2017, where they went down to the Roos by a margin close to 200 runs. Sunday’s clash saw the Snakes off to a flier thanks to 27 and 41 from their opening 2 pairs. Senior players Sandra Devine and Nat Senkeldam were particularly impressive with the bat, posting 19 and 22 runs respectively. The 3rd pair kept the score ticking over despite losing regular wickets before Zoe Britcliffe dominated the final 4 overs with 2 runs off her own stick.

The Bouncer chase got off to a flier thanks to a chanceless 39 run opening stand from Nat Jarden and Wendy Klisby. The Snakes found their range in the second pair, restricting their pair to just 9 runs and putting themselves in the box seat for the win. 2 tight overs from Ella Mills, including a total of 7 dot balls, helped the hosts keep the total from climbing too sharply. A valiant 34 from the Roos’ last pair saw them take home a second skin, falling 22 runs short of the target and handing the Snakes 4th spot on the premiership table.
